As I try to get back into the swing of things with blogging please bear with me. I thought I could just free form blog about whatever each day – yeah, clearly I don’t know myself. I thrive on structure – it helps me function. So I’ve come up with some “blog topics” and I’m going to try to blog about them each week. They are: Week In Review, Household Projects, Things Mommy/Drew are liking this week, a typical day as a stay at home mom and something I baked or cooked that I want to feature that particular week. Does that sound interesting to peeps? So to start off here is our week in review.
1. After about two weeks of struggling Drew rolled back to front this morning. I woke up to screaming (usually I wake up to coos and him playing and talking in his crib). I ran into his room to find him on his stomach, freaked out. I’m guessing this is how our nights could go for awhile until he gets the hang of it. So proud!
2. Wubbanubs are magical. No seriously they are.
3. Arms are no longer swaddled and our first week of putting Drew to bed awake has been a huge (knock on wood) success. Two nights straight he slept from 7PM to 6:15AM and then 5:30AM – it was amazing! Today we’re up at 4:30.
4. I read Unbroken this week. If you have not read it you must. It is an AMAZING book accounting the life of Louie Zamberini a precocious child, turned Olympic runner, turned bombardier in WWII, survived 30+ days on a raft after his plane goes down and becomes a POW in Japan during WWII. It is a story of courage and spirit and I literally could not put it down, well except to care for my baby of course.

5. I read Unbroken from a Kindle (my first Kindle book) – yes, I’m joining the 21st century.
6. I tried a new Stroller Strides instructor this week. The timing of the class works better for us, the class is harder which is better for my body as I try to get back in shape, and I definitely had trouble walking Friday and yesterday.
7. For Valentine’s Day dinner I made Parmesan-Crusted Pork Chops, Lemon Spaghetti with a salad and a Brownie Pie. It was a delicious meal (thank you Giada). The pork chops were actually so good that I bought another pack and made a batch last night. You should make them too! Oh and yes, I did whip out our china for this special dinner, so fun.
8. Did anyone else think that this week’s Top Chef challenge was ridiculously hard? My regularly scheduled television programming was back – ahhhhh. And this week the Amazing Race starts up again. Oh and I might or might not be recording the new season of Khloe and Lamar. What? I just want to see if they get pregnant – don’t worry I won’t get sucked in.
9. I thought the Grammy performances were awesome this week. There was a diversity in the genres of the music and I really just enjoyed almost the whole thing. Usually I hate the Grammy’s and I love music.
10. I’m sorry did I mention that we have the cutest baby ever ![]()

I love your new format Beth- especially things Drew is liking & (of course) the recipes that you have tried out. Have a great day!
Love the Valentine’s picture of Drew!
